Belfast Parade Kicks Off at City Hall
The festivities in Belfast commenced with a colorful parade starting from City Hall at 13:30 GMT. Participants, adorned in green attire and waving Irish flags, filled the streets with joyous energy, embodying the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day.
Londonderry’s Vibrant Parade
In Londonderry, the celebrations began at 15:00 at Bishop Street Car Park. The parade, a hallmark of the city’s St. Patrick’s Day tradition, featured marching bands, floats, and community groups, drawing crowds of spectators eager to join in the merriment.
Pilgrimage and Parade in Downpatrick
Downpatrick, known as the final resting place of St. Patrick, hosted a series of events to commemorate the saint’s legacy.
A pilgrimage walk led by religious leaders from Saul Church to Down Cathedral set the tone for the day. Following a cross-community service and wreath-laying ceremony at St. Patrick’s grave, the town erupted in celebration with its annual parade, which commenced at 13:30.

Meanwhile, the quaint village of Cushendall in County Antrim embraced the St. Patrick’s Day spirit with its inaugural festival.
More than 200 revelers gathered for a “hooley at the corner,” featuring traditional music and dancing. The lively atmosphere echoed the community’s enthusiasm for honoring Ireland’s patron saint.
